Our club is volunteering along with E Mau Na Ala Hele to lead this informative hike for the Hawaiian Cultural Festival at Pu`ukohola Heiau National Historic Site. Here is the flyer for this 2 day festival. Come early and enjoy all the festival activities.

Spencer Beach Park to Mauʻumae Beach is a scenic, mostly level 0.5-mile round-trip walk (about 0.25 miles each way) along a coastal segment of the Ala Kahakai National Historic Trail on the Big Island of Hawaii. This is a roundtrip hike. It takes 10 to 15 minutes each way and offers great ocean views.

Hikers will meet before 10:00 a.m. at the Ala Kahakai and E Mau Booth below the first Spencer Beach parking lot directly ahead as you enter the park. Take the Spencer Beach Park Road off Kawaihae Road.
Hikers should be prepared for both hot and/or windy conditions. Each person should carry 2 liters of water. Also recommended are sturdy shoes, sun protection, lunch, and a hiking stick. For those interested in swimming at Spencer Park or at a Maumae Beach remember to bring your swim gear.
