WHAT
We will be weeding between older out-plants and then planting new various native dry/mesic species which provide biodiversity, watershed restoration, and cultural importance. Most planting will be done in a rocky soil substrate. Gloves and tools will be provided.  
WHEN Saturday,  September 19th
The day will begin at 8:00 a.m. at the hiker check-in station. It is located just to the left of the entrance as you pull through the main automatic gate.

8:00am      Meet at parking area to sign waivers and timesheets. 
8:15am       Drive to Hauʻāina Unit together 
8:30am      Introduction to Place, Plant Demo, and Instructions  
9:15am       Get Started!
11:30am     Pau Hana/Lunch 
12:00pm    Drive back to hikers check-in. A hui hou kākou! 
WHERE
Hauʻāina Unit  
WHY E mālama i ka ʻāina, a mālama ka ʻāina iā ʻoe “Care for the land and the land will care for you.”  
BRING
-Sturdy hiking boots/shoes (closed-toe) are REQUIRED
-Long-sleeved shirts and pants are recommended. -Snacks and a lunch
-Plenty of water: a water cooler will be available for refills
-Sun protection: Sunscreen, hat, sunglasses
-Rain gear   **Terrain is uneven and rocky. Weather can be hot and sunny or cold and rainy.**
